Mood swings are an abrupt change in mood or emotional state. Mood swings are bond to happen in every human but how you handle each mood determines the result you get most times (i.e the reaction).
NOTE: MOOD SWINGS ARE NORMAL!
One of the things that teenagers exhibit fluently either knowingly or unknowing is mood change. One moment you are happy and jumping up and down but the next moment you feel suddenly down and lonely why?
Below are some of the things that often happen to change one’s mood:
- Stress
- Music we listen to
- Sleep deprivation
- Going through hard times probably in the case of sorting out your feelings for someone
- Hormones
- Premenstrual Syndrome
- Getting shouted out by one’s parent or siblings
- Feeling emotionally down as though you aren’t doing enough or achieving much in life
- Peer pressure
- Pregnancy (mood swing is very common during pregnancy)
I can’t list all but these are the few have noticed in myself and friends.
Like i said earlier, mood swings aren’t bad and sometimes happens for good reasons but it won’t be ‘for a good reason’ if you don’t handle it well when it comes.
As a teenager, anytime i sense my mood changing from been happy to probably feeling alone or down, i tend to listen to heartwarming music, exercise, write, do house chores just to maintain the current mood i was but if none of that works, i simply allow the mood to take hold of me and then i just stay alone because interacting with people isn’t my thing that moment.
Mood swing comes and goes.
Now, how do we control this mood swing?
- Get regular exercise
- Get better sleep
- Try not to be too stressed
That’s all we have for today guys💖
